Statutory Cells

The Anti-Ragging Cell is a statutory body constituted in educational institutions to prevent, prohibit, and eliminate the practice of ragging.

The committee works in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and other regulatory authorities. Its primary aim is to ensure a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for students, especially newcomers.

Objectives

  • To prevent ragging in all its forms within the campus and hostels
  • To create awareness among students about the consequences of ragging

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Formulating and implementing anti-ragging policies as per UGC norms

  • Receiving complaints related to ragging and conducting inquiries
  • Taking immediate and appropriate disciplinary action against offenders
  • Providing support and counselling to affected students
  • Displaying anti-ragging guidelines, helpline numbers, and notices prominently
  • Submitting compliance reports to regulatory authorities when required
  • Ensuring coordination with local authorities, parents, and hostel management

The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) is a statutory body established in the institution to promote equality, inclusiveness, and social justice.

The cell works to ensure that students from disadvantaged and marginalized sections of society are provided equal access to educational opportunities, resources, and support services without any discrimination.

Objectives

  • To ensure equal opportunities for all students irrespective of caste, creed, gender, religion, or socio-economic background
  • To support students belonging to SC, ST, OBC, minorities, and other marginalized groups
  • To promote an inclusive and discrimination-free campus environment
  • To create awareness about government schemes, scholarships, and welfare programs
  • To address grievances related to discrimination or inequality

The Internal Complaints Cell (ICC) is constituted in the institution in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

The committee is established to prevent sexual harassment, ensure a safe and dignified work and learning environment, and provide an effective mechanism for redressal of complaints related to sexual harassment.

  • To create awareness about sexual harassment and POSH laws
  • To ensure fair, confidential, and time-bound redressal of complaints

  • Conducting inquiries in accordance with POSH Act guidelines and principles of natural justice
  • Ensuring confidentiality of the complainant, respondent, and proceedings

The Minority Cell is an institutional body established to safeguard the interests of students belonging to minority communities as per the National Commission for Minorities Act (1992).

The cell functions in accordance with government and regulatory guidelines to ensure equal opportunities, inclusive growth, and a supportive academic environment for minority students within the institution.

Aim

The primary aim of the Minority Cell is to promote equity and inclusion by addressing the academic, financial, and social needs of minority students and ensuring that they receive equal access to educational opportunities and institutional resources.
