Sangamotsav 2025 (Ganesha & Onam Celebration)12 September 2025

The Indus Valley College, KR Puram, Bengaluru in association with IQAC hosted a vibrant celebration for both Ganesha Chaturthi and Onam in September 2025, for a duration of 3 days. It was organized by the Cultural Committee and Student Council.

The Ganesha Chaturthi festivities began with the installation of an eco-friendly clay idol of Lord Ganesha in the college campus and also with the big reveal of the Sangamotsav 2025 banner in the presence of all the students and the staff, followed by traditional rituals and daily Aartis and distribution of Prasadam prepared by the students and the staff.

The second day of Sangamotsav 2025 at Indus Valley College was devoted to the Onam celebration, highlighting the festival's cultural richness and its significance as a symbol of unity and prosperity. The courtyard was adorned with intricate Pookalam created by team of students and staff. Competitions like rangoli, uri adi (pot breaking) were organized for the students to boost the festive spirit. The language department also organized a skit that was performed by students for the occasion. Simultaneously the rituals, daily Pooja and Prasadam distribution for the Ganesha Pooja was carried out. It was followed by Thiruvathirakali by the students and the staff around the vibrant Pookalam. The day concluded with feast offered to all the students and the staff.

The third day was the final day of celebration, which started with application of rangoli by the students and the staff. It was followed by the Pooja, Prasadam distribution and a grand farewell to Ganesha in the presence of traditional band (Tamte), which added charm to the conclusion of the event. The students and the staff accompanied the idol to the lake for the immersion, which took place without any difficulties. The event received overwhelmingly positive feedback and the celebrations not only fostered cultural unity and joy but also reinforced values of inclusivity, tradition, and sustainability within the college community.
